This place was perfect for our family of 4, with room to spare. The layout is great with separation from the TV and bedrooms if you need quite for little ones to sleep. Great location close to snow play and restaurants, etc. Very dog friendly (with toys and a bed!) with ample room in the laundry room for our dog crate. We didn't cook much but the kitchen seemed well stocked with all that you need. My son locked us out of one of the bathrooms by mistake and the property mgmt company was very quick to respond and we resolved it quickly. All around a great little spot!

My stay at this rental was a complete nightmare. The experience was marred by hazardous plumbing issues, terrible odor, and an utter lack of help and support from the host. I would not recommend this rental to anyone and would caution future guests to steer clear. The most alarming aspect of my stay was the hazardous plumbing issues. I was shocked to find that the plumbing system was in such disrepair that it posed a serious health risk. The water was discolored and had a foul odor, and backed up with sewer after every flush. This lack of basic requirements for human safety is unacceptable and put my health in danger. Despite my repeated attempts to contact the host, their responses were "to look elsewhere" and to deflect the issue with defensiveness. The constant back and forth to the host ruined our vacation. Normally i have great stays, hence my reviews and my reliability. but this is a different matter. the host didnt offer anything in return.

This was a nice stay. The backyard was nice and spacious for the kids and dog to play snow in. The hot tub was nice and clean. The house was comfy and homey. Beds were comfortable. It was overall a warm and welcoming stay.

Cons:
1) The wood fireplace was nice for 1 night until there was no more wood to fit in the furnace. There was plenty of wood available, but only a handful of them were cut to size. There was a handsaw there to help cut the wood, but it was bent and couldn’t actually cut. I messaged Lux VR about this via Airbnb messages, and they said guests need to provide their own wood. That was a minor downer. It comes down to the impersonal touch of a management company vs an actual host that owns the home. Not a big deal. Just be aware.
2) The kitchen didn’t have a bottle opener.
3)The neighbor across the street is a nosy Nancy. She told us “nicely” to stay on our side even though we never went on her side. She’s watching and waiting to complain about non issues.

My family of five loved this home for our 4-night stay!! The layout was perfect for us with young children and dogs. Not only is the home pet friendly, it is pet welcoming with EVERYTHING you would need for your dog including a bed, food & water dishes, treats, pooper scooper, and a fully fenced backyard. Location was absolutely perfect for quiet trail walks as well as easy drives to the main road & downtown area. Hot tub was a great size and easy to manage as well. The washer & dryer were conveniently located just inside of the garage to quickly warm up wet gloves after playing in the snow and towels after the hot tub (4 pool towels provided). The floors don’t get praise enough for their beauty and kid-friendliness hahaha. The fireplace was also well-maintained and a feature we sought out when selecting a house. I had trouble finding something in the fully-loaded kitchen and my message was responded to very quickly and friendly. All check-in, during-your-stay, and check-out directions were clearly stated and easy to follow. We had zero issues during our stay and would absolutely stay here again!!

It was really cold and dark when we arrived. We arrived and the lights were not working. I then reached out to the Luz Villa VR and received a response until about an hour. They advised the power went out... I asked for a refund to go to a location where it would be warm before the dark settled in and a refund was not an option given to me. The power came back before the dark settled in which is why I did not reach back out and stayed at the location. The bathrooms were a little dirty. Besides that everything was okay.

The beds were very comfortable! House is tucked away in a beautiful neighborhood, but a short drive downtown and to Heavenly Ski Resort.

We really enjoyed our stay here with friends this weekend. The backyard (with incredible hot tub) is great for grilling and letting the pups romp around. Big, comfy couch to watch movies and play games on. Nice kitchen to cook for a group. We really appreciated the washer and dryer, as well, as it was nice to dry towels after getting out of the hot tub.

We were a little worried that neighbors would be very strict about noise due to all the noise ordinance warnings, but we just made sure we kept our voices reasonable when we were in the hot tub and went back inside before 10pm and there were no issues.

Home was clean, well-organized and cared for. We would be so happy to book this place again.

This is the best Airbnb we've ever booked. The house is clean, modern, and cozy. You can find everything you need in this house. Our stay at Lux Villa VR was cozy and nice. All the rooms were spacious and the beds were super comfortable for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Great decor, apple sound system and 4 person jacuzzi. Location was pretty central to Heavenly and beaches but more of a 40 min walk to town, shops and restaurants. Overall, we had a good stay.

This rental is seriously a dream and met every criteria on our cabin getaway wish list. We had 4 adult guests and a small dog during our stay and there was plenty of room to accommodate more guests. The property was very clean, the beds/pillows/linens were good quality, the kitchen was stocked with all essential cooking materials and then some, and there was an updated washer/dryer if needed. The weather was high 70s when we visited but the cabin stayed very cool and comfortable. The neighborhood was ideal, not a lot of commotion in the community and neighbors kept to themselves. Very close distance to downtown south lake and Stateline. We also appreciated being able to park our vehicle in the garage (there was healing amounts of pollen everywhere outdoors!).

Only cautionary comment I would leave for future guests is to watch out for the high chlorine chemicals in the hot tub. 3/4 guests had their swim suits completely bleached after only an hour or so in the hot tub which was a bummer. The south lake rental restrictions and quiet hours are extreme so don’t plan a late night party here, but aside from those minor issues we give this place 5 stars and look forward to future visits.

Favorite things:
- Backyard is fenced in and felt like a private space surrounded by huge trees. Perfect for our dog
- Actually dog friendly, not just dogs allowed. Basket of dog toys and dog bed in the living room
- Hot tub is VERY nice! Easy instructions, easy to use cover, stayed hot, very comfortable seats. Great way to end each day!

- Bed was fine

This home is beautiful. There’s a big backyard for your furry friend to run around and play in without the worry of them getting out. The hot tub is a perfect spot to enjoy the crisp Lake Tahoe air but remain warm as well. The kitchen was our favorite part as we do cook all but like 1 meal when we vacation. It has more amenities then you can believe. I was nervous to go with out dog since we haven’t taken him to a Airbnb before and didn’t know if they would have everything we could ever need to clean up after him. Luckily they had plenty of cleaning supplies to make sure you can pick up any accidents if it happens and clean any messes your family might make. The firewood burning stove was great too to keep you warm throughout the day if you do decide to stay in for most of the day. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a little more woodsy feel but still be minutes away from the heart of South Lake Tahoe. We really enjoyed being able to ride our bikes into town and back for lunch and not feel like you had to be super athletic to do so since it is so close to delicious dining and shops. This place was 10/10. It was way better then we could have imagined.

We had a fabulous trip and loved this house. The location was perfect to get down to the lake, to the bike trail, and to trailheads. The house was very clean and really well stocked. They had everything we needed and more. The hot tub was clean and easy to use. The backyard was completely secure and plenty big enough to throw a stick so we had no concerns about our dog’s safety/happiness.
